Uyuni Salar

It is the largest Salar in the world with its 10582 square km of surface, located in the department of Potosì, it can be reached by flight from La Paz in 45 minutes or by bus about 12 hours.
It contains 10 million tons of salt and is formed by 11 layers of salt that together form a thickness ranging from 2 to 10 meters.
Every year about 25 thousand tons of salt are extracted.
90% of the planet's lithium is found in this salty desert (lithium produces: electric car batteries, it is also used in nuclear energy).

If you have the chance to visit it between March and April you can enjoy the famous mirror effect.
Calculating that the rainy period goes from December to the beginning of March, a natural phenomenon is needed, the salt becomes impermeable and the water accumulating on the surface gives shape to this incredible reflective effect.
